CLIMB Programme
What is CLIMB®?
CLIMB® is a unique programme being run by CUAN Cancer Social Support and Wellness Group, created to provide emotional support for children (ages 5 - 12) who have a parent (or other significant adult) with Cancer. During the (six-week programme) two-hour group meetings - conversations, art and play are used to help children identify and appropriately express complex feelings related to having a parent with cancer. They are given their own workbooks to capture their progress, which they are encouraged to share with their families at home.
The CLIMB® Programme was designed by the Children’s Treehouse Foundation, a non-profit Children’s cancer support group based in the United States. The Irish Cancer Society and Cancer Care (Northern Ireland) have trained CUAN facilitators to run the programme here in Cavan.
What is the cost of the CLIMB® Programme?
The programme is being offered free of charge to families, because we believe that stronger families make stronger survivors.
